Sneak Peek Extravaganza!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

I always hated that term. Hump Day. I get the reasoning behind it, I just don't feel comfortable saying it. It's just not right. lol

Anyway...I come to you today with a sneak peek extravaganza!

I have not 1, not 2...but THREE sneak peeks for you today!

As you know, I've been very quiet lately, both on the blog and in the store with new releases. I've been having a very big non-activity period, but I promise you, that's coming to an end VERY soon! I have not only a collab with a great designer (who I've collab-ed with before - oooh!) coming out on Friday but another collab with another great designer friend of mine (who I haven't collab-ed with before now - OOH!) coming out on June 1st. I also have some more new releases planned in June - hopefully lots of them!

Onto the sneak peeks!

This first is a collab with one of said designers. Can you guess who it is? The suspense will kill you! This collab will be absolutely sure to win your heart over, especially if you're the parent of a little girl. I don't even have a little girl and it's won my heart over. <3

The second isn't necessarily a release, or anything that will come to my store...but trust me, you'll love it just as much! It will be coming to you on May 28th (hopefully!)...I say hopefully because it's not so much 100% done...maybe hmm...95% done. :D But I've been working on it 12+ hours a day and will be working on it 14+ hours until Friday morning just to bring it to you on May 28th. Well...14+ may be an exaggeration, because feeding and taking care of my son has to occur in there somewhere LOL! But he's been very cooperative in allowing me the time to work, so I'm 99% sure you'll see it coming your way on Friday morning!

This second you will absolutely LOVE...it's for boys and girls alike, and if you have a little nature explorer...this will be a must-have! It's another collab with a designer coming June 1st - to TWO stores! One will be hers and of course mine as well. It's very rare that I do new releases mid-week, but this warrants it! It's just too cute to wait until a Friday!

Now here comes the fun part!!

We're going to play a little guessing game. Your first guess - who am I collab-ing with in the first sneak peek? Your second guess - what am I revealing on Friday morning (sneak peek number 2)? Third guess - who am I collab-ing with in my third sneak peek? Please put them all in ONE post, as you'll only have one chance to win!

Scrappity-Doo-Dah is back!

For those of you who missed your fix - Scrappity-Doo-Dah is back!

We're still not quite sure what went on. On Thursday everyone received an update that read a little something like "The last owner (Keith of UC) is unable to provide services and the company has been bought out by Impact Hosting. We are committed to bringing your sites back online and bringing you your services..." Blah blah blah. (By that time, we were all just a little peeved, sick of hearing excuses, and we were just ready to face what was going on and move to start our stores and sites from scratch again. No joke.)

My theory is that either a) UC went bankrupt and instead of turning everything over to the new company as it was, they shut off the servers and held all our sites hostage so that we wouldn't leave during the transition, or b) it's actually UCWebhost in disguise.

Either way, it doesn't matter because Scrappity-Doo-Dah is back up again. I can't personally promise that there won't be more downtime in the future, as we don't know what this company's intentions are. I also can't say anything about plans at Scrappity-Doo-Dah regarding staying with the company, as I don't know those lol. But downtime, if any, should be minimal.

Now I wish I had some new releases for you - I know it's been a while - and I was going to, but then SDD shut down on me. It didn't go back up until late Thursday night, and by then it was late, I was tired, and knee-deep in plans for the blog. (I won't say anything, my lips are sealed but...it'll be BIG!) So I just didn't have time to set them up in my store. But as long as SDD is still up next week they will be available next week. I also have two wonderful collabs coming your way in the next couple weeks, so be prepared for those!

Keep checking back, because like I said, I have some BIG things coming for you. You'll definitely want to be signed up for my newsletter for it all, because I can't give out dates because I don't know them for sure. It's all just touch and go at this point. But I will say that now, I do expect it to be around June 1st. (Remember that's just an estimate.)

There won't be much to report from now until then, but keep an eye out at the blog.

What's going on with SDD?

I'm sure that's the question going through some of your minds right now.

I just wanted to drop you a note as my loyal customers, that Scrappity-Doo-Dah is down yet again. Yvonne and Tam, the owners/administrators are doing everything in their power to get SDD back up and running. The webhost found a possible security breech and had to shut down the servers to find if there was a problem and also to fix it. Many digi-scrap stores are down as they work to fix this problem.

We have no word on when Scrappity-Doo-Dah will be back up and running.

I assure you all that if you had a coupon or an item that you purchased before the site went down and you did not get your items or your coupon expired, I will honor those items as long as they were valid as of May 10. (Meaning if the expiration was May 9 or before, they were no longer valid and can not be honored.) Also I will try the everything in my power to get you download links as long as they are available.

I thank you all for your cooperation in this difficult time with our host.

Mother's Day Freebie!

I just wanted to stop by and wish all you mothers out there a fantastic Mother's Day!

Hubby and I are pretty strapped for cash this weekend because his paycheck was delayed, so we'll be spending the day very low-key - what would be super nice would be being able to sleep in, waking up to a clean house, and a nice lunch cooked by my husband. I can only hope!

CT Spotlight, Sneak Peeks, and a Special Coupon!

Hello all!

The Pixiemama CT and I are getting ready for another big celebration this weekend!

First of all I want to let you all know that new products from me may be a bit few and far between for a while. On Friday afternoon I was working on my EHD trying to get it to read on my computer and it broke. I've been having this problem for a while, it will sometimes read and sometimes it will give me problems. I thought it was a problem with the computer but turns out that the small USB plug inside of it was not properly soldered inside or something. We gave it a few wiggles trying to get a connection and the plug just broke clean off. It's now inside my EHD rattling around in there somewhere lol, and I can't even hook it up to anything. None of my stuff is lost, thank goodness, not to my knowledge anyway. Just inaccessible. That includes my preview, all my commercial use items, all my digital kits, all my own personal designs, my pictures...everything. So you can see my issue lol.

However, I'm going to make the best of it until I can send it in and get it back which will hopefully be quickly! I have some of the things I need and other things I can get back as I go along.

I also decided that since I can't access my preview, that it was about time for a change! Tiffany of Inspired by Dominic Designs has made me a wonderful new preview and you will be starting to see the new previews on new and old products in the store starting in May!

Also, the CT and I have decided that it's time to change things up a bit here at the blog. If you were a follower of our CT blog, you'll now notice that it's gone - my CT are all moving over here and making my design blog their new home. With this will come a brand new redesign and many changes here. Look for this to come soon!

I'll get to the freebie and the CT Spotlight soon but first I want to give you all a little sneak peek of what's coming your way on Friday, the start of iNSD weekend!

Now...onto the spotlight! This week we are spotlighting Jill.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I am a mommy of twin girls, Serenity and Arianna, who just turned two. I am married to a great husband. We just celebrated our fourth anniversary in early April. I am also a teacher at our local public school.

So how long have you been digital scrapbooking?
I have been digital scrapping for about five years but didn't find the "world" of digi-scrapping until two years ago when the twins were born.

Did you ever do any traditional paper scrapbooking? What made you switch? Do you still do any paper scrapbooking?
If you mean the kind with pretty papers, beautiful ribbons, and gorgeous do-dads to dress the page with, then no. If, however, you mean the five dollar "college special" scrapbook (that had "scrapbook" emblazoned on the front of it) that had a bunch of pictures, ticket stubs, napkins, and beer bottle caps (and a few labels) taped into it, topped off with construction paper frames and glitter glue, then yup! I scrapped all through college. When I was out of college, I didn't have time (new teachers are VERY busy) so when I saw a program for scrapbooking on the computer with pretty pictures on the front I was interested. $10 later I was hooked! LOL I scrapped all of Hubby and I's courtship and haven't looked back since. I still will paper scrap (in a much more sophisticated way lol) some pages when I have ticket stubs or other tangible items to add to the book, but it is rare. I have made a few "pages" from wedding invitations as gifts too.

Do you have any other hobbies?
I am currently making hair bows, tutus, and taggy blankets to sell at fairs this summer. I enjoy crafts of all kinds, but I am hoping that this hobby will make enough money to let me buy a wide format printer for digi-scrapping 12x12 pages Lol.

What do you find yourself scrapbooking the most - your kids, pets, significant other, family, etc?
Most of the time my pages are of my kids. But us grown ups get in there from time to time as well.

What couldn't you live without when you make a layout? For example, undo, a certain element, a program, etc?
Hummm.....I definately rely on undo, but the best thing is when I have a ton of great papers to work with. I find they have sooo many uses besides being background!

Do you gravitate towards any certain color or style when you make a layout?
I go for pink and girly when choosing making layouts... girls way outnumber the boys in my household, so I don't have too many masculine items in my stash.

Do you do anything on the side, such as designing, designer services, scrap-4-hire? Don't forget to include a link or something so we can pay you a visit!
I have considered scrap for hire, but haven't pursued it. I have done some brag books as gifts, 8x8 scrapbooks as gifts, and invitations for friends as well.

Where's your blog?
Believe it or not, I don't have one.

Who's your favorite designer (other than Pixiemama)? Give them a plug - include a link to their shop!
I honestly don't have a favorite. I always find a ton of things from lots of different designers that I fall in love with and my stash of kits is very diverse when it comes to designers.

Tell us one thing about yourself that very few people know.
My girls were preemies, born at 27 weeks, weighing only 2lbs 8oz and 1lb 6oz at birth. They spent 106 days in the NICU. That has influenced me a lot and has given me such a great desire to capture every little moment no matter how "small" it may seem.

Tell us one thing about yourself that is unique or weird.
Much to Hubby's dismay...I get motion sick in movies. Not in cars, planes, trains, boats or anything else, just movies. It's so bad that now even the smell of popcorn can make me feel ill.

What's your favorite layout that you've made?
This is one of my favorites: 1. I love the picture of Hubby with the girls...too cute and 2. I was very proud of the composition. I scrap lifted the page from one I had admired very much and was proud to capture what I loved about the original.

Designiversary Celebration Winners!

Hello everyone!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Designiversary turnout! Every single one of you made my design anniversary very special to me. I thank all of you for all the congratulations you sent. This first year has been absolutely spectacular and I hope that this next year will be just as fantastic!

Okay now on to what you really all care about...the winners!

I did three drawings - we only had entries for the custom styles on my Facebook fan page and the giveaway on Tiffany's blog, so I put all names into the bowl (seperately) and chose a winner that way!

Here are all the entries for the Facebook giveaway, which went first...

I gave my dirty, naughty little boy the job of picking the names. I swear this child can't stay clean for five minutes to save his life. Anyway...

He had to ham it up. (As usual.)

Okay now on to the part you care about...

Designiversary Winners - Coming Soon!

Hey all! Nothing to report here today, I just wanted to let you all know a couple of things.

First of all, thank you to all of you who participated in my Designiversary celebration! All the contests have ended and the winners have been sent their prizes. All of you who were kind enough to send me congratulations and good wishes, I appreciate all of you! The winners will be announced sometime between tonight and Monday night - I'm working on my laptop today and it's hard to type out blog posts because some keys on my keyboard don't work. Also I have pictures of my son drawing names from the bowls so I wanted to share those. I will also post a coupon for all of my wonderful blog readers to thank you for all the congratulations and good thoughts you sent to me!

Also, the design blog will be seeing some changes that will probably take a while to implement. My CT and I have decided to get rid of the CT blog and I'm moving all the CT over here to my design blog. We hope to do ocassional challenges and more giveaways with this! It will probably come with a new blog design (yes, another new one! lol) and might take a while to fully finish, because I have a LOT of commitments to finish this month first! So we'll keep you updated on that.

I better get back to work since I have the house all to myself for the afternoon, I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't updated the blog with winners or anything yet because I'm busy working behind the scenes. Thanks everyone!

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
My name is Jennifer, and I live in Colorado with my husband and two sons.

So how long have you been digital scrapbooking?
I have been digital scrapping for almost a year now, and I will never go back to paper!

Did you ever do any traditional paper scrapbooking? What made you switch? Do you still do any paper scrapbooking?
I did scrapbooking and a lot of card making, which I still enjoy. My friend talked to me about digiscrapping, and once I found out that it was done with a program I had already used for years, I decided to check it out.

Do you have any other hobbies?
I like movies, t.v., reading, cross-stitching, photography

What do you find yourself scrapbooking the most - your kids, pets, significant other, family, etc?
My family is featured in most of my layouts. I am usually the one behind the camera!

What couldn't you live without when you make a layout? For example, undo, a certain element, a program, etc? I like to have frames, stitching, scatters. I love Photoshop, also!

Do you gravitate towards any certain color or style when you make a layout?
I generally like earth or jewel tones. I can't use a lot of girly colors since no one in my family has girls (yet!)

Oooh I'm so excited!!!!

Today marks the day that exactly one year ago, I posted my very first freebie on this very blog that I created myself. It was then that I became a "designer" - well, a designer who had a LOT of stuff to learn lol. I didn't start selling until the very end of May, but I really felt like a designer when I posted that first freebie.

I've had soooooo much fun this past year and I am looking forward to another fabulous year with all of you - my designer friends, my customers, my CT, and all my fans.

CT Spotlight Week 5 - Nessie

So I'm typing this up Tuesday night and since 1) I'm just getting over the flu and 2) we had an extremely busy day with a picnic and play at the park, Easter shopping, and dying eggs, I'm very tired, so I'm going to keep this short.

This week for the CT spotlight we have Ness. Ness has been on my team since the beginning. In fact I think she may have been the first that I welcomed into my CT forum. Get to know a little bit more about her.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

So how long have you been digital scrapbooking? May or June of ‘09

Did you ever do any traditional paper scrapbooking? What made you switch? Do you still do any paper scrapbooking? Yes, books of traditional scrapbooking. Little fingers helping w/ traditional scrapbooking really isn’t very helpful. I would do traditional still if my scrap room wasn’t such a giant mess.

Do you have any other hobbies? Camping, Photography

What do you find yourself scrapbooking the most - your kids, pets, significant other, family, etc? It’s gone more and more to my kids but I scrap everything.

What couldn't you live without when you make a layout? For example, undo, a certain element, a program, etc? Photoshop. The versatility and creativity is fantastic.

Do you gravitate towards any certain color or style when you make a layout? Earth Tones or muted colors. I’m not really one for the really bright colors generally

Do you do anything on the side, such as designing, designer services, scrap-4-hire? Don't forget to include a link or something so we can pay you a visit! Sadly I do a bunch of designing but nothing to do w/ scrapbooking. I design CD/DVD face art , covers etc.

Wow, blogging three days in a row! I think it's a new record for me!

Sadly, I've lost a couple of my CT girls. One had to leave because of other commitments and one has decided to take on the role of my designer assistant. She's the one who's going to keep my head glued on my shoulders lol. Unfortunately with all that she will be doing for me she will not have time to do as many layouts as she used to. Sooo....

Brand New - CU Plaid Overlays!

Hey everyone! Wow, I think it's been a long time since I've actually made a post about a new release on the actual day that it released! lol Life gets kinda crazy around here, I'm telling you. My husband has been working like crazy trying to get this new job, he really wants this, and I've been working to prepare for if he does get the job, because if he does we'll be taking an extended vacation. It's not too far away, only two and a half hours, but it will take us away for three weeks at the least. It's kind of hard when you work at home and have 1 dog, 2 cats, and 5 kittens (take them, somebody, anybody, please?!) to take care of. Luckily I have lots of family around town that are willing to help take care of them for those three weeks when they can, and my hubby and dad are trying to find any means necessary to allow me to bring work with me. My laptop kicked the bucket, the power cord is shot and we just don't think we have time to get a new one ordered. My aunt gave me an old laptop of hers that is pretty new and nice, but we can't find the power cord and the LCD screen is busted. We may have to rush order a new power cord and just hook up the flat-screen desktop monitor to that one in order to make this work. It's better than the alternative - hubby suggested taking the whole desktop with us, tower and all. lol No freaking way, not unless that's my last resort.

Anyway...guess I'm in a blabbing mood today lol. On to the new release!

Are you looking for just the right kind of plaid pattern for your next kit? So was I, and I just could never find exactly what I wanted. So I created some! lol I just love these overlays. They blend extremely well with almost any color.

Plaid is back "in" and very fashionable these days. A lot of the cutest fashions you will find are made out of plaid. It is such a versatile pattern - men and women alike love wearing it, it looks good with almost anything, and it's comfortable, casual, and laid-back. The same goes for using plaid papers and patterns in your digital kits or layouts. These plaid overlays will help you achieve the look of plaid in your projects, and can be used for nearly any kind of kit or layout - masculine, feminine, whatever!

Included are 6 overlays in flattened .png format, greyscaled only. The example papers shown are to show you how these overlays look only, and they are not included. There are 3 patterns which are diagonal in nature, and 3 which are horizontal/vertical. Each one is unique, and 12x12, 300ppi.

They are (obviously) good for Commercial Use, but also good for PU/S4H/S4O. These would be good if you have a solid paper in a kit that you really love, but you just want a light pattern to it. I've used these overlays myself (in a couple of new things, actually - look for them in about 2 weeks!) and they pick up texture and color really well.

CT Spotlight Week 4

Hello everyone! Sorry I'm a bit late with the CT Spotlight this week. I'm a bit late with everything this week lol. We had to take a very unexpected trip out of town this last weekend. Heath had to go for a job interview a couple of hours away and we decided that instead of just heading down there for the interview and coming back, that it would be worth the extra gas money to go visit my in-laws, since they live so close. So we made it a weekend trip to stay with my in-laws and we had a great time. Heath had a very good interview and it looks like he'll be getting a new job. The new job might take me out of town for an extended period of time (3 weeks) and I'm not sure what I'll do with my designing in that time, but I'm going to try to take my work with me. I'll keep you all posted on that as I get more information.

This week I am spotlighting Brooklyn. Brooklyn is a very sweet girl, she's my youngest CT member at only 12 years old and she's amazing! Learn more about her:

My name Is Brooklyn I am 12 years old and I am on 5 teams including Pixiemama designs. I love to dance and dance 4-5 days a week!! I love cats and we have 2 in the house!

I have been digi scrapping for about 7 months.

Yes. My mom showed it to me and I love it! Not really.

CT Spotlight Week 3 - Freebie Time!

Hello everyone! Hope your Wednesday is finding you well! Anyone starting to notice the signs of spring lurking? I am. Saturday we had absolutely gorgeous weather here. Hope it stays like that lol.

Today I'm back with CT Spotlight number 3 - and I'm spotlighting Missy! Missy is a fantastic team member. Any designer would be lucky to have her. She CT's for me, Jaya and Tiffany and she always does such fantastic work.

Get to know Missy a little better!

I am the mother to young, wild men (Jake, 6, and Zach, 4) and wife to my best friend, Joe of 7.5 years. Born and raised in Georgia, I am a true Southern Belle! I love my family, my church, and my friends. When I am not busy with my family, working the children & youth at church, or teaching 6th graders all about Math & Science, I am steadily scrappin'!

So how long have you been digital scrapbooking?
Last July (2009) while trying to find some ideas for my DS birthday paper invites, I stumbled on digital scrapbooking and have been hooked ever since.

Did you ever do any traditional paper scrapbooking? What made you switch? Do you still do any paper scrapbooking?
I started paper scrapbooking in 2003 and was able to complete one entire scrapbook, which is a major kudos to me! However, Jake started getting more mobile and into everything, so I was not able to pull out my "stuff" as much. So when we moved in 2007, I ended up throwing what I had left away.

Do you have any other hobbies?
Other than scrapping, I can be found reading!

What do you find yourself scrapbooking the most - your kids, pets, significant other, family, etc?
DUH!!!! A no brainer for me...my kids! I am out of my comfort zone scrapping myself. I am always taking pictures of the boys and their friends. I have started stealing pictures from my family members and scrapping for them on the sly....to surprise them with goodies!

What couldn't you live without when you make a layout? For example, undo, a certain element, a program, etc?
Right now...Something shimmery! I love glitter! However, my shimmer may be metal or diamonds!

Do you gravitate towards any certain color or style when you make a layout?
I am definitely a traditional girl! I love experimenting with shadows and trying to make my pages have that traditional paper appearance.

I was adopted! I have never known my biological father. However, my mom married the only daddy I've ever known when I was four and he has been a blessing to me! He formally made me his own when I was 13!

Tell us one thing about yourself that is unique or weird.
According to my DH, there is not just one thing....Ha, Ha! I guess that anytime I am concentrating on something...manually or intellectually....I have my tongue sticking out! Apparently my grandfather was known for the same habit and now my youngest child has too developed it!

What's your favorite layout that you've made?
This was one of the hardest questions...I even asked for help in deciding. But I finally chose this layout...more so because of its style, layering, etc.

Then I intended to put this up last night, but I forgot until minutes before I got into bed. I was way too tired to make it happen last night but here it is - finally!

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

Hey everyone, my name is Sue. I originally lived in the UK and moved over here to be with my partner. We have a gorgeous little tomboy named Amelia who is so independent and yes she is the main inspiration for my scrapping. I've loved art and design ever since school where I took art and ceramics. Then I gained a diploma in general art and design and moved up to try my hand at jewelry design. After doing a 180 degree turn because my artistic spark was literally crushed I gained a diploma in pharmaceutical science and became a pharmacy technician. But over the years and with the encouragement of my man …. here I am back with one of the loves of my life but going digital this time. It is the age of the puter afterall :)

So how long have you been digital scrapbooking?

Since Oct-Nov 06 … I wanted a way to send more than just photos to my mum in the UK.

Did you ever do any traditional paper scrapbooking? What made you switch? Do you still do any paper scrapbooking?

I put some photos and comments in a folder once about my vacation to Iceland …. does that count? Other than that no I have never paper scraped. I think I'd stick my fingers together and make a worse mess than my daughter.

Do you have any other hobbies?

I love photography even though my talent is not that great LOL.

Also love reading fantasy and Sci-Fi esp if its humorous like the Discworld series or M.Y.T.H. Inc. series. Cooking is great fun especially when shared with my partner and now my daughter is getting to the age where she wants to join in … as long as its not messy LOL, she can be so prissy at times.

What do you find yourself scrapbooking the most - your kids, pets, significant other, family, etc?

Definitely my little girl but I have started a wedding book for my niece and she also loves it when I scrap her little boy.

What couldn't you live without when you make a layout? For example, undo, a certain element, a program, etc?

The blend modes in my graphics software[Paint Shop Pro]. I have found some stunning effects when using those.

Do you gravitate towards any certain color or style when you make a layout?

Not sure if I stick to one style …. I have described my style as a mishmash of several in the past. Probably a little graphic in there as well as freestyle with a touch of traditional and sometimes I like to go grungy or add some glitz and go shabby Chic. Oh yeah a mishmash alright LOL.

Do you do anything on the side, such as designing, designer services, scrap-4-hire? Don't forget to include a link or something so we can pay you a visit!

I have created the odd freebie kit here and there but prefer to make the scrapbook pages. I am thinking of making greeting cards but working out the logistics of it first.

I am adopted :) …. I was given up at birth and went to my new family at 12 weeks old.

Isn't she just fabulous? I love having her on my CT, she's always hard at work and her layouts are so fabulous - she's also a big fibber on her photography, it's amazing what she can do with photo effects - I thought she owned a DSLR camera until she told me it's really a point-and-shoot that she spices up with photo effects. She really must give out some tutorials or photo actions/styles for the rest of us!

Okay now on to the freebie. Sue created this cluster frame out of the items in my P365 kit. I apologize to all of you - this is one kit I haven't yet gotten up in my shop yet. It's such a large kit that it will take an entire day to re-QC, re-preview, re-zip, and re-upload. But I have full intentions to get it up in the next couple of weeks, so make sure to check back! Hello everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted, without a shop there's really been nothing to post about. I've postponed the CT Spotlights by a couple of weeks until we get back into the swing of things, and me and my team have been busy little bees!

Scrapable Statement

It was decided by all the designers and administrators that a statement should be made. My good friend Tiffany was voted to make that statement. Here's what everyone from Scrapable would like to say to our customers.

Many of the designers at Scrapable have been talking and we feel a statement needs to be made.

I want to note that I wrote this statement based upon many of the feelings of the designers at Scrapable. However, if anyone is offended by anything here that is my fault not the other designers since I chose the basic wording. Hopefully no one will be and this will explain where many of us are right now.

There is a lot going on right now at Scrapable and we feel that it is important to make a statement about it all. First, there have been a few big changes recently as the ownership of Scrapable switched hands about a week ago. Today (Jan 28) the forum and store of Scrapable were shut down. This occurred without the knowledge of the previous owner, the current acting administrator, and the designers of Scrapable. At this time none of us have enough information to speculate as to why this occurred. There is a lot that simply is not known at this time. Unfortunately this includes the future of Scrapable.

Here is what we do know. None of us want to see all of the hard work that we and many others have put into Scrapable disappear. Scrapable has been an amazing site and with the right owner and a little work it is possible it can continue to be an amazing site. A few of the designers and the previous owner are working together to try to make things right. They are hard at work in discussion with another possible buyer. This may not work out in the end, but there has been too much work and effort put into Scrapable to see it go down without a fight.

If anyone has any outstanding orders for any of the designers at Scrapable please contact the designer directly. We will make sure that you have your links! If you have gift certificates or coupons that you were unable to use, again please contact the designers directly and we will do what we can to make sure that you get what you need.

All of the designers at Scrapable were stunned by what happened on today, as were all of the members and others associated with the site. We want you to know that while we are all finding our footing and determining our next step we have not forgotten about everyone else. We are aware that what is happening at Scrapable affected more than just us designers. We want you to know that we are all working on something special for all of you. We don’t have a lot of information right now and we don’t have a lot of certainty, but we DO have a lot of heart and an amazing group of women.
At this point, none of us know the future of Scrapable. However, that doesn't mean that we will not try to make everything as right as we possibly can, even though none of this was any fault of the designers. So again, if you have had any problems with your orders (didn't receive links, didn't get a chance to download) please contact me and I will verify it and get back to when I possibly can. We will have a special thank you to our customers available very soon.
I'm also in talks with another store. This may take a while to finalize, and I won't say any more about it because this is not a done deal. However, I am trying to get back up and running as soon as I possibly can.
Currently you can only purchase one item of mine, and that is my collab with InspiredbyDominic Designs. You can find that at Scrappity-Doo-Dah right now, if you're interested in purchasing that. Also I still plan on having the designer spotlight up this week, possibly earlier than Wednesday.
I will let you all know as more develops, and thank you so much for being patient with us.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER NEWS!!!

Scrapable has been temporarily closed. This was completely unexpected and we (other designers and myself) don't know if or when it will open again. I am in the process of finding a new home, and will let you know as soon as I've got one.

Currently the only product of mine that you will be able to purchase is the collab that Tiffany and I just did, but you will only be able to purchase it at Inspiration-Lane on Saturday and later today or tomorrow at Scrappity-Doo-Dah.

I'm incredibly sorry for the inconvenience and hope to get this resolved soon. If you recently purchased from me and did not get your links to download, or need anything else, please DO NOT HESITATE to email me at pixiemamadesigns@hotmail.com and I WILL REMEDY IT ASAP!

Tidal Wave Weekend - New Releases and a Freebie!

Hello all! Did you enjoy the first installment of the CT Spotlight and the freebie? I hope you did!

I have some new releases this weekend for Tidal Wave Weekend at Scrapable! I think you'll really enjoy it!

I had sooooo much fun making this new kit. I started Project 365 this year as a way to expand my scrapping skills and to find a way to capture our everyday life much better. I'm so bad at taking pictures of the little things that you never think of, so I figured this would be a way to force myself to think outside the box - coming up with a picture every day is difficult but I've gotten some excellent pictures because of it! I also figured this would be a good way to improve my photography skills before I get my new DSLR in about a month or so (yay tax returns!). And I was right - I have improved a LOT! I'm so excited to see what my photos will turn out like after I start taking them with my new camera. I can't wait to get it!

Anyway I wanted a Project 365/Project 52 kit to scrap my weekly layouts that was as unique as I am. I've found a ton of P365 kits out there that I love, but I wanted something that was totally my style. So I created this HUGE kit!

I'm serious - this kit is HUGE! My computer counted slightly over 300MB when all was said and done. There's 6 packs in all - a set of date elements, a notebook paper alpha, a set of over 100 elements, a set of patterned papers, a set of school papers, and a set of layer styles. I've made it easy and included all elements in one huge bundle available for a VERY low price (pictured above), a kit bundle which includes all papers, the elements (not including date elements) and the alpha, or all in seperate pieces, so you can purchase only the things you want!

This kit would be good for ANY kind of layout - there are enough gender-neutral elements that you can scrap both girls and boys, and adults alike. The school papers would be great for those back-to-school layouts also. The date elements make it so easy for you to date your layouts. There are three types of date bits - circle cardboard, circle styrofoam, and square notepaper - in the numbers 0-31, the months, and the days of the week in each one. I've also made a date wheel, which comes either plain, or embellished with either a screwhead center or stapled center. Also in the pack is a set of stamped-styled date strips, one with numbers 1-31 and the other with months. I've included 2 doodled pen markers so you can easily circle dates, in 3 colors - black, red, and blue. Included in the element pack is over 100 elements, some recolored but some unique, including multi- and single-photo frames, ribbon hangers, ric-rac, stitches, buttons, acrylic hearts, flowers, and more. There are 12 patterned papers and 14 school-style papers, which can be used for any style of layout or any season. The notebook paper alpha is lined in silver glitter and backed with corkboard for a very unique look. The layer style pack includes 3 different types of styles - acrylic, glitter, and gel glitter - in 10 colors each, for a total of 30 colors.

CT Spotlight Week 1 - and a Freebie!

Hello all! As promised last week, I'm back today with our first installment of the CT Spotlight! I'm so excited to bring you my CT Spotlight. I just held a CT Call back in the end of December - I first posted at DST and Scrapable and I had so many replies that I didn't even get a chance to post it on my blog. I can't believe how many fabulous girls I added to my team. And they've been soooo hard at work creating so many fantastic layouts, they're overloading the galleries with them!

Today for the first CT Spotlight I'm spotlighting Jaya. Jaya happens to be a very good friend of mine, so when she asked to join my CT I was surprised and thrilled at the same time. Jaya is also a designer, she designs under JayaPrem's Hangout so you may just know her! Anyway, onto her spotlight!

Tell me a little bit about yourself -

My name is Jaya I am from India but residing in US now. I am SAHM of one naughty little monster, Harish and wife to Prem. My son going to be 4 this year. He is my inspiration for scrapping and everything. I have a Post graduate degree in Environmental Science and worked for 3 years as a Medical Transcriptionist before getting married and moving to US. I came across digital scrapping while searching for scrap supplies online, saw a digital site and got hooked instantly.

So how long have you been digital scrapbooking?

I have been digital scrapping for 2 years now.

If I could I would use flowers and strings in all my layouts. I LOVE them.

Speaking of Tiffany, I have to leave you with a little bit of a plug. She has come out with this brilliant new action for designers - but it would also be invaluable to scrappers! Ever bought a kit or CU item and weren't sure about the quality? Or question something of your own that you've made? Wanted to check it BEFORE it went through the embarrassment of a failed quality check at your store? Now you can and I highly recommend it!

Her CU Quality Check action is only $5 and is an amazing investment in both your scrapping and designing. It checks for size on a 12x12 canvas, gamut (color when printed) issues, strays and jagged edges, trims your element to save space, blurriness at 100% and checks your element at print size. It will also check papers for these same things. I can tell you that I've had it for about a week and a half, and I've used it hundreds of times now, on different elements, and it's helped me improve so much on quality, especially with gamut. I didn't know how to check this before, and this action has made it 100 times easier to put out quality product. It takes about a minute to run the all-in-one action, and it allows you to stop in between to make any corrections and pick up where you left off. Trust me, it's amazing! So....how was everyone's Thanksgiving? Did you gorge yourself with food? I know I did. I was super-stuffed. Thanksgiving in my family is the BEST meal of the year, no joke. Turkey, stuffing, homemade chicken and noodles (the best part, I could deal without all the rest)...I almost didn't fit out the door on the way home. Isaac stuffed himself too - mostly with pumpkin pie! He's a big fan of pumpkin pie. I'm a cherry pie person myself lol.

And how was your Black Friday? What time did you wake up? Did you hit the stores? Any good deals? My parents and Isaac and I skipped the stores and went about an hour away instead - we hit a Target and Walmart and a couple of clothing stores - I had a little bit of money and decided to buy me some new clothes, which I was in such desperate need of. I bought some really comfy jeans, a new sweater, a blouse and an "I love Vampires" hoodie lol. My mom bought me a pair of earrings and a necklace that says "Bite Me" - I looked like a 17-year-old Edward obsessed fan in my New Moon t-shirt the whole time!

I've been crazy busy working on some new stuff for Christmas, and I have some fantastic things lined up before the end of the year - you're going to be thrilled! Like I said, I've been crazy busy woking on Christmas stuff here. Not only in digi-scrapping but in real life as well. We started Christmas a little early here in our household, as we put the tree up the other day (I believe Tuesday). All of my beautiful villages are up, our stockings are hung, all the lights are strung...and frankly, I've never seen our house so lit up! It's beautiful. I'd show you the pictures I took the first night but they're not hooked up to my laptop. Maybe I will get some pictures tonight and edit the post with them.

I'm so excited - New Moon opened today! Me and Hubby are going tomorrow at 2PM. Our tickets are already purchased and we're ready to go. I'm hoping no one ruins it for me till then lol. Hopefully I'll come back with a picture at least so I can scrap it.

Yep that's right, without further ado, here is my spectacular news!

I have been so excited to share this news for a while but didn't want to spill the beans until it was officially time to. Well that time has come, and my shop is officially open at Scrapable!

There are just a few products up right now, but more will be added in the next few days. We will have some awesome things going on for Digital Scrapbooking Day (yep, that's this weekend!). This will be my first DSD as a designer so I have tried to make it really special! I will have a new release this weekend - it's a HUGE kit and you'll want to celebrate DSD in style!

No really, I swear I haven't. I've just been REALLY busy.

First, I want to tell you about the two wonderful designers that I CT for that I'm also happy to call friends. They share a CT, and have recently had some members resign because of other commitments. They are looking for some new CT members.

Tiffany and Jaya are fabulous designers. They really take care of their CT members, they almost always have new products coming out, and they're extremely flexible with requirements. They have wonderful product and I almost never have a problem finding something to work with. I've been on Tiffany's CT for over 6 months and was there when Jaya and her team came along and everyone has been wonderful!

Well hello everyone! Hope you're having a fabulous morning, evening, or night - whatever it is in your neck of the woods. Here it's 4AM and I'm delirious with exhaustion but I can't seem to pull myself away LOL.

I don't know if in my last post I gave any specific dates for any releases, but if I did I apologize for not making them. I've been in a bad slump the past few days. For a couple of days I threw in the towel and said...forget it! I quit! I almost considered giving up designing altogether. I gave myself a couple of days break - and sure enough, it did me good.

I've come to a decision, and it may be a bad one for business but it is something I have to do.

I have noticed that since I started designing, my TMJ flares up quite a bit more. It's flaring up a little on me tonight. Maybe exhaustion, who knows lol. Anyway, my TMJ really bothers me and when I have a flare-up it's almost impossible to do anything. It's impossible to work, take care of my son, I struggled with cooking supper tonight - at least without going off the deep end. It's becoming increasingly difficult to get rid of these flare-ups with pain medicine, and they are coming more often - since my last trip to the doctor in fact, I've had pain almost non-stop. I have short day-long breaks in between - but it seems like the past 3 or 4 weeks has just been non-stop pain and flare-ups. I have to take pain medicine for this. I've been on several different medicines. I was first on Ibuprofen, a large dose, and that stopped working. They upped the dose, and it stopped working again. Needless to say, now I'm on Darvocets. I don't like it, I especially don't like having to depend on heavy medicines to live my daily life, but if I don't I suffer so I'd rather be on medicines my whole life than have to suffer. And until I can afford to get in to see an orthodontist, or whoever it is I need to see for this, that is the only choice I have.

I believe that designing could be one of the culprits. Stress is a major cause of tension for me, and TMJ is all about the tension because it's in the joints. I get stressed when I don't think I'll make deadlines, or when I haven't put out any new product. The creation stresses me out too. I'm always my own worst critic on my kits. Anyway...I've decided that in addition to cutting as much stress as possible out of my life, getting back on the WiiFit to start doing some yoga (it seemed my pain was almost non-existent when I was doing yoga exercises), seriously changing my diet, I also must cut my designing time down. I will only be doing designing part-time. This will unfortunately mean less new products from me - at least I think. I've surmised that maybe if I'm less stressed and only spend a couple hours a day on it (rather than 7-8 hours like before) that maybe designs will come more often. I've also decided to make a couple of other changes, but those will be implemented and announced at later dates.

With that said, the Halloween kit is now almost finished. I was on a "vacation" as I like to call it, but inspiration hit tonight. I need to finish up the previews and work on an alpha and then I believe it will be done. I will try as hard as I can to finish tomorrow and package it all up for a POSSIBLE release on Friday. However...I won't do as before and kill myself in order to get it there lol. So I won't make any promises but I'll get it out before Halloween.

Now, with THAT said...I still consider myself on vacation. LOL I've gotten my house nice and clean, started on a new hobby, visited with my family (we took a day trip to a fabulous place, more on that later) and scrapped some pages of said trip, with TONS more to do. I've even tried out some new scrapping techniques that are way out of my comfort zone. I'm rather enjoying my vacation, so don't expect anything new on the horizon for the next couple of weeks (other than the Halloween kit). Like I said, I won't kill myself in order to get new things out, but I will do what I can.

I'm SO tired so I'm going to wrap this up...I do have plans still to work on a fall kit. I also have some plans to release some CU stuff. I just don't know how that will go now that I've decided to go down to part-time however. We'll see. I had wanted to put out a birthday kit to celebrate Isaac's birthday, but it doesn't look like that will happen. He's having a pirate party anyway lol. Maybe a pirate themed kit, who knows. I also still want to release maybe 2 Christmas kits. We'll take it one day at a time, and see how it goes. However, I will still have a blog train ready to leave the station. I haven't heard a word from some of the other designers, so it may be later than planned but that's ok...it will be plenty worth the wait! I'll let you know if I hear any word on that. That's all for today, I gotta get to sleep, got to get up early in the morning. Have a good day/night!

Thankful - October Blog Train!

Hi all! October already? Geez. I can't believe it's October already. Seems like hubby and I were just celebrating New Year's at home, all by ourselves. We were going to go over to a friend's house but I fell sick so preferred to stay at home, rather than go out. It was nice though. :) And soon it will be Halloween, and we still have to decide what we adults are going to do for Halloween. Luckily Isaac is already outfitted for Halloween - he's going to be a little pirate. He's so cute in it! And then Thanksgiving (I can almost taste the food lol) and then Christmas. YIKES! I wish I could go back to August, without having a ton of holidays looming at me lol.

It's that time again! The theme this month for the Blog Train is Thankful - and let me tell you, it's a gorgeous kit! And huge again! Almost (if not over) 100 designers participated in this - I lost count!

Hello all! Good news, I'm feeling much better today - well right now anyway. This morning at work I got sick twice - too much nasty mucus - but I was feeling a little better by lunchtime. Wish I'd eaten something though - I'm starving, don't feel like getting up to cook, and Heath won't be home to bring me a sandwich for another two hours. :( Oh well...I'll have to get up and cook something for Isaac after I post this anyway. :)

Today I bring you a little information about all the good things going on over at Scraps With A Mouse this week. Lots of fun things!

Hey all!

I don't have much time, I just figured I should really stop by and let you all know that I haven't abandoned my blog lol!

Okay so the short story is this - I've been very sick this weekend. I originally started out thinking I might have the swine flu. I'd talked to a couple of friends of mine and it seemed like they'd had it, and read up on the symptoms on the Internet. So yesterday I went ahead and went to the doctor - I already had antibiotics that I was taking, but Thursday night my TMJ really hit me hard - probably because I had so much pressure in my head going on and I was stressed out thinking I had the swine flu. Anyway so I had to go to get something that would work on my TMJ, and found out at the doctor that I had a sinus infection - thank goodness! So I was given a different antibiotic to take care of that, plus heavy pain meds for the TMJ. I mean heavy. SO...I'm pretty out of it this weekend. Last night I was so dizzy that - well you know that feeling after you ride a ride at the carnival that goes around really fast? That you're still going around and around and it's making you sick? That's how I felt. Only my ride was going REALLY fast lol. I'm better today, I cut the dosage and it's still working for the pain but not with as bad of effects. I should be much better tomorrow, I have to work so I won't be drugged up on pain medications. I'm really going to try to get some stuff done tonight.

Therefore...tomorrow I will be making the big blog post. I will have information on Scraps With A Mouse's big grand opening (yay!), I will have a link to a freebie for all of you, and I will also be putting up information on the speed scrap I'll be hosting later next week! (Mark your calendar - it will be my first speed scrap so it will be great!) Also I will reveal a little information on the next two blog trains I will be participating in - both coming in October! Today I have a very special request for you. All my life I have been an animal lover. I'm a lover of almost all animals. Snakes, bugs, and things that bite (hard! lol) are the exception, but I still try to treat them with love and respect. Every time that I see an ASPCA commercial, I cry. My friends at K-Joi feel exactly the same way. That is why I'm bringing you this very special request today.

A few statistics for you:

In media-reported animal cruelty cases, dogs are the most common victims of animal cruelty. Pit bulls, in particular, constitute an increasing percentage of victimized animals.

Of 1,880 cruelty cases* reported in the media in 2007:

64.5 percent (1,212) involved dogs
18 percent (337) involved cats
25 percent (470) involved other animals

*some cases involved multiple species

Pit bulls represent an increasing percentage of total canine animal cruelty cases.

In 2000 and 2001, pit bulls were the victims in 13 percent of reported dog abuse cases.
In 2007, pit bulls were the victims in 25 percent of reported dog abuse cases.

An examination of government data measuring intimate partner violence and scholarly studies of the prevalence of animal cruelty in such cases reveals a staggering number of animals are victimized by abusive partners each year.

The HSUS estimates that nearly 1 million animals a year are abused or killed in connection with domestic violence:
Methodology:
- About 2,168,000 women and men are physically assaulted by an intimate partner annually in the United States (U.S. Department of Justice, 2000).
- Sixty-three percent of U.S. households own a pet (APPMA, 2006).
- Seventy-one percent of domestic violence victims report that their abuser also targeted their animal (Ascione, 1997).
In 2007, 7 percent of media-reported animal cruelty cases either occured in the context of a domestic dispute or involved a person with a history of domestic violence.

Legislative Trends

Forty-five states currently have felony provisions for animal cruelty. (Those without are Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, North Dakota and South Dakota.)

Before 1986, only four states had felony animal cruelty laws.

Forty-one of the 45 state felony animal cruelty laws were enacted in the last two decades: 13 were enacted between 1986 and 1996, and 26 more were enacted between 1997 and 2007.

I love my pets to death. I have 3 animals currently. I have a part-Golden Retriever puppy (and full ornery!) named Shiloh who will be 1 year old at the beginning of 2010. Our cats, 1 adult female, Calico, who is probably around 3 or 4 years old, and our 3-month-old female kitten who is 1 of 3 kittens born to Calico, who is currently unnamed (we're leaning towards Sassy or Lily, because her pattern reminds me of a tiger but black and I think of Tiger Lilies!). Just yesterday, the other two kittens were given away to a very good family friend who lives on a farm, because we just can not handle them (they are a MESS!) and he will take SUCH good care of them. While they were all here, I got so frustrated with them (they literally TORE my house up) but I loved them so much. I miss those two kittens dearly.

On another note, my grandma and mother are literally the cat ladies. Recently a bunch of stray cats started hanging around my grandmother's house and my mother and grandmother care for them like they are their own. They spend massive amounts of money on them per month just feeding them. Although they can't take them into their homes (there are literally about 30 of them, I'm not kidding), they care for them like children. They often have lots of litters of kittens and we spend hours cuddling on those precious little things. Recently, one of my favorite babies of any of the cats died from an unknown cause and my heart has just been broken. Here is a precious little photo of him and one of his brothers/sisters goofing around, a few days before he got ill and passed away. (He's the black and white one.)

Doesn't it just melt your heart?

That's why I ask that you please visit these sites and consider making a donation. These stray kittens happen all over the place and often there is no one there like my mother and grandmother who have the heart to take them in and care for them. (My own Calico was a stray that I rescued!) They often get run over, or taken in and mistreated, or cruel people come along and torture them. I won't even tell you what happened to my cousin's cat by some very cruel neighbors. Please consider making a donation to save these precious animals' lives!

Sneak Peek!

Hi everyone, I just popped in to give you a sneak peek of what's releasing on Friday, September 4th! It's my new kit I've been working SO hard on all weekend.

I'm so proud of this kit. It's definitely my first venture into finding my "style" and I think it turned out SO well. And it's pretty loaded, too. I haven't done a count on the elements in it, but I know it has over 10 papers and a full alpha, and at least 20 elements (more I'm sure). I think you guys will really like it.

This kit was mainly designed for my own personal use - I have some pictures from a town function that is held here every year, and I couldn't find any "country-western" themed kits that I really liked, that had all the elements I wanted in it. (There's hint #1!) So I decided to create one myself. I also have some pictures of my son in a cowboy hat (hint #2!) that still need to be scrapped, so those will definitely be scrapped with this kit! It has lots of grungy things, metal, gingham ribbons, and even some horses!

I have a dilemma, however...I haven't come up with a name. It releases on Friday and I have no idea what I'm going to name the darn thing because I've been so busy working on the actual kit that I haven't even thought of a name LOL. But I will eventually come up with something.

And don't forget, the Next SAS-Y Lady Contest starts tomorrow! I'm so excited to be able to bring you guys some wonderful mini kits. This will probably also spawn some exciting new products in the future, so keep checking back all month for my contest entries to be able to download them!

Bad Blogger!

That's me scolding myself for being such a horrible blogger. It's been over a week since my last post, so I guess it's time to get to posting something. I've got a lot of things on the agenda for September, so this may be a long post. You've been warned!

So all weekend, I've been a busy little bee. I've been working on a new kit which is almost done, I've got a couple of elements left, and I plan on doing an alpha, but I have to get a couple of things scanned in first. I've been holding off on finishing it, because last week my wonderful daddy ordered me a new scanner off Ebay for an early birthday present (my birthday is in January) and I've been waiting for it to come in. Well it came in today! I was so excited. I haven't gotten it hooked up yet, because I have family in town from Colorado all weekend - my uncle Gary came into town, they've been re-siding my grandmother's house all weekend long, so I've had my laptop down there finishing up the new kit. I think you all are going to like this one, it's done in a style unlike any of my other kits and I finally found a style that I really love. I love lots of grunge and rustic style anyway, so I really hope you guys like this one. I'll also hopefully have a freebie, my first CU freebie, to give away along with it. But it won't be coming for a few days, maybe closer to a week, so keep checking back.

Since family's been in town, I've been away nearly all weekend. Internet connection isn't the greatest down at my grandmother's, my dad has Internet right next door, but it doesn't reach very far so I'm constantly on "Very Low" connection. It's okay though, because it's given me more time to get my kit worked on (since I'm not chatting or procrastinating by perusing the wonders of the 'Net lol)...I've still had to run around chasing Isaac though, even more so actually, so I haven't accomplished much.

I've had one person email me about joining the CT, and I've also contacted two people I know from some forums to join my CT, so I will be announcing them soon. I need to get some pictures from them and then I will put them in my sidebar. I've also contacted a couple people who were willing to guest for a while and maybe become permanent, so we will see how that goes. I'm still looking for a couple of members though, so if you're interested, please email me at pixiemamadesigns@hotmail.com. I have very low requirements - one kit a month minimum, and one layout per kit minimum, so if you're looking for a CT but don't have time for a lot of commitment, please contact me! (Hopefully, this makes up for the lack of freebies I've had lately!) The contest starts on September 1st and the first entry is due by the 6th, so check back sometime during the week or on Saturday for the first freebie kit, it will be a mini of course but if I know myself, I'll get totally carried away and add too much stuff to it lol. I guess I'd better get my butt up and hook up my scanner so that I can get this kit finished. I definitely won't finish it tonight but I can at least get my stuff scanned so I can do some extractions tomorrow at my grandmother's - maybe, if Isaac will hogtie himself long enough for me to focus on even that. CT Spotlight @ JayaPrem's Hangout!

Hi guys! Just dropped in to tell you that Jaya of JayaPrem's Hangout is spotlighting me this week on her blog, as one of her and Tiffany's CT Leaders. She sent me a few questions to answer, so because I think you guys should get to know me a little bit better, I'll go ahead and post it here as well.

How long have I been scrapping? I've been scrapping since I was 13, so almost ten years now. I started out as solely a paper scrapper, discovered digi in 2007, and around the beginning of this year, I turned 95% digi. I just find I can get way more done in the amount of time I have. Plus, it's more budget-friendly for me, as I'm on a WAY tight budget for scrapping.

Program I use to create layouts - Since I started digi, I scrapped with Paint Shop Pro. I hated scrapping with Photoshop...I never could get the hang of it. But about a week ago, I was doing some layouts and I was trying PS, and discovered - I LOVE IT! I love using the clipping mask option, and it makes working with templates so much easier. I don't think I'll ever go back.

My scrapping style is - I'm a very clean, linear scrapper. I love using templates, although I don't use them often enough. I love fantasy pages, but I never was any good at that. Guess I don't have a good enough imagination for that. I'm not one for grungy layouts, but I love grunged up papers. I'm also very OCD about my layouts. They have to be just perfect, or I'm not satisfied. I love trying new things too.

I am a morning person/night owl/ other - TOTAL night owl! I could stay up until everyone else was headed off to work if I had the choice. I've been known to be up until 4AM working on something, if it catches my interest enough.

I get inspired by (what to scrap about) - Inspiration is a real big problem for me. I never seem to have any lol. My last scrapping binge I went on was inspired by a whole bunch of freebie templates I found. I scrapped at least 3 layouts that night. Other than that, usually I'm inspired by a specific kit that I'd like to work with, and if not that, I usually draw inspiration from my pictures I want to work with.

Things that make me happy are - I love working with pictures I love. I love it when I have those perfect pictures for a layout. In fact, most of the time, I find it very hard to work with older pictures, they don't hold the same excitement as newer ones do for me.

My fav thing to scrap with is/are - I can't live without ribbons in a kit. And not straight ribbons - curly ribbons. Even more than that, I love strings. Fluffy, curly, colorful strings. I love staples too...I think I have staples on at least 50% of my layouts. Shadows are big too...I can't have a layout with shadows. I'm getting more into the realistic looking shadows.

My fav techinque - I can't say that I have a favorite technique, unless the shadows count as one. I'll try almost anything once, and usually I eventually grow fond of it.

I pass my time when i dont scrap by - That's a lot of time to pass lol. Well I work part-time at a local restaurant, so that takes up about 20 hours of my week. My husband and I work opposite shifts, so when I'm home, he's at work and I'm taking care of our son. But usually after I get home you can find me sitting on the couch on my laptop, designing my own kits, talking to Tiffany or Jaya, watching a movie or TV. I eat a lot too, but that's unimportant lol. Oh, I write a little bit too.

Fav movie, song and vacation place - My favorite movie right now is Twilight! I've been bitten by the vampire bug. It changes all that time, but I think this will stick a while. After New Moon comes out, that will change it though. My favorite songs change all the time...I couldn't possibly pick one. I've only been in 5 states in my life - Kansas (where I live), Missouri, Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma, and never been outside the country, so I can't really say too much about vacationing...but the first time I went to Colorado, I left my heart there. It's somewhere around there, probably high up on a mountain top, where I'll never get it back. Love Colorado!

My all time fav kit is/are - This is so hard to say, because I've only worked with maybe two of Jaya's products, since I'm so new to her CT. But I love Cat's Pajamas, and I'm sure she'll come out with more kits that I absolutely love. Next to that, it's probably Tiffany's kits "A Day Just For Dad" or Jamie's Rainbow"...I've done so many of my son's baby pictures with Jamie's Rainbow.

Hey everyone! How is everyone's Tuesday going? Wish mine was going better. My jaw's starting to act up and I'm getting the beginnings of a horrible splitting headache. Heath had to go in to work for a couple of hours because someone called in, so I'm getting some things done so later I can do some scrapping and spend time with him.

I just popped in to let you guys know that I have another new product in my stores. My little hiatus did me quite well. :)

The new kit is a mini kit called Strawberry Margarita. Sound familar? It's one of my entries from The Next Best Thing contest, it's redone and way better. I tried out some new techniques I learned in this one, still perfecting them but it turned out quite well. As per usual, for the rest of August this mini is not the regular price of $3.99, but on sale for $2.99. On September 1st, it will go back to it's regular price. You can grab the mini kit at both of my stores, K-Joi Studios and Scraps With A Mouse.

I also have a freebie quickpage using some elements in the kit. There is one quickpage in both PSD and PNG formats, for use in multiple programs. You can only get the quickpage freebie at K-Joi Studios, so head on over there to grab that.

Speaking of layouts...before I go, I wanted to show you guys this layout I made with Beachy Keen. This is my son, Isaac, right before his first birthday, enjoying a bath before bedtime. Doesn't he look like he's having fun?

I used a free template available at A Cherry On Top, and like I said the kit I used was Beachy Keen by me, you can pick that up at K-Joi Studios or Scraps With A Mouse (remember: it's on special as well, for the entire month of August it's only $2.99!). The glitter style used on the title is by Inspired By Dominic Designs, from her Storybook Slumber kit, which you can grab at any of her stores. (Links at her blog.) Taking a break...

Hey everyone.

I know you haven't heard from me in a few days. I've been thinking a lot.

I've decided to take a break from designing. Not permanently. I think I've really been pushing myself to do way too much. I've taken on a lot of responsibilities this month, so after those get out of the way and things die down a bit, I'll come back. I'm also going to take this time to do a bit more learning, so that when I do come back, I'll hopefully be able to give you more of what I know I'm capable of. :)

I should mention, what brought all this on. I've rediscovered an old hobby of mine, from way back in high school. I'm doing a little bit of writing. It won't be published here, or at all in fact. It's not publish material. It's just a fun sort of thing. Just another hobby of mine, that my husband has encouraged me to start up again.

I will continue designing during that time, though. I have signed up for a couple of blog trains, one of which will come out in the next few days so watch for that. Another will be coming in September. Scraps With A Mouse will be having their grand opening coming in late August so I will be participating in that, and we are ironing out the details for that currently. We are ironing out the details of a speed scrap that I will be hosting during that time, so I will make sure to post when more details come out about that. Also, if you're a fan of my designs, you will want to check back on August 1st, because I will have a surprise.

I really am sorry for not having put anything new out lately. I just can't seem to get into anything. I do, however, have a mini kit almost completed, so when I come back hopefully I'll have that ready to come out. And as I said, I'll still be putting a couple of free things out during August. I should be ready to come back by, at the very least, September 1st, if not sooner. It all depends on how much my mojo starts liking me. So check back for all the new things coming this month, and when I come back in September I'll have some new things for you all as well. :)

I feel like, honestly, the worst designer ever. Not only have I neglected my blog, but I've also neglected my designs. The worst part of it is...I've been working non-stop! I really have. I guess the fact of it is, I got involved in way too much stuff, like blog trains and that kind of thing, that I haven't had the time to take care of what I needed to take care of. I was planning on releasing a new kit today, but it didn't work out like that and I'm not finished with it. I hope to have it released by Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday at the latest (I hope)...after that, I have to work on some more blog train stuff and a commitment for a collab, but I will try to take breaks in between to work on some new stuff. This stuff I got involved in is good for me though...it's good for my advertising and getting my name out there, so hopefully everyone will understand.

The good news is, I have some huge things planned. The changes will start to take effect come August 1st. Some will be here on my blog....some will be behind the scenes but still noticeable. Hopefully the changes will leave me a little more time to create new stuff. Now, some of the changes won't take effect August 1st. Maybe more like September. But hopefully they will up the ante and bring a little more traffic here and get my name out there.

So look for some exciting things to come August 1st! :)

I didn't realize it had been so long since I'd updated my blog. I've been working hard on some new stuff for August. No new kits in the works yet, but I do have plans to start something in the next few days. My life is so unorganized right now lol.

This will be a short post, but I have a freebie for you today. This is a quickpage I just whipped up an hour or so ago using some of the elements from Girls Vs. Boys. If any of you stopped by today and saw that horrific background image, I sincerely apologize. When I changed the blog I discovered a website called ImageShack where you could host images, just like Photobucket, but it was more capable to handle larger images. So I hosted my blog background there, but that was all. But I did bookmark it for the future.

I logged onto DST just a few moments ago, after getting back from going to town with my mom and grabbing a bite to eat, and I read about some people having problems with anti-sec images showing up instead of the images they uploaded. Come check my blog, and guess what...I'm affected too. I'm steaming and intend to write a heavily-worded email to ImageShack, because this affects business - that is, when I can get their customer service pages to LOAD. *fuming*

Regardless, I hope none of you were offended by this at all. That was NEVER the image I uploaded, nor did I ever INTEND to upload anything like that, and thankfully it was only one image - unfortunately it was a very large and highly readable image, and probably lost me a few potential customers. Please accept my sincerest apologies for this.

Lesson learned here? NEVER use an image-hosting website that you don't trust. NEVER.

And remember, Tiffany will have new product out in IL stores tomorrow. Read post below for details. Didn't want that to get shadowed out of this.

New Release!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that I've released a new kit in my K-Joi store. I don't know if anyone who reads my blog remembers my first entry to the Next Best Thing contest, but I've taken that and made it into a full-sized kit. I couldn't stop myself with this kit and it ended up being pretty large. It has 14 Papers, 55 Elements, and 2 Full Alphas (pink and orange, with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and some punctuation and symbols)!

And for the month of July I've made it 40% off in my K-Joi store. Please go check it out!

Maybe in the next couple of days I'll have a freebie done and ready with the kit. Here's a layout I made with the kit. This is Isaac and Heath a week or so ago at the park, having a great old time.

New layout for blog

So does everyone like the new layout for the blog? I know it looks a little plain, I'm still working on it. But I got so incredibly worn out on designing and doing things for my blog (I haven't done anything but that for at least a week or more) that I decided I needed to do a little scrapping to take a break. So I'm gonna do a couple days of scrapping till I get my design mojo going again, lol! So when I get back to doing some stuff I'll work on it a little more.

I'm working on the challenges over at K-Joi and then when I get done with some of those I'm going to move over to some of the other sites. I still have to do my layout for the sketch challenge over at K-Joi, but I don't feel like doing it right now. I've been doing lots of 4th of July layouts lately, started with last year's and now I've moved on to this years. We got some GREAT pictures this weekend. Isaac was very good and cooperative at the BBQ (which was a lot of fun), and loved to ham it up for the camera. He just loved "popping" his "fireworks" (which were nothing but smoke bombs and those little things you throw on the ground, cause I wanted him to be able to get close without getting hurt)...but he didn't know any better, and he was scared of the bigger fireworks anyway so he had fun. He actually held a sparkler this year, and we got pictures of that, so you'll see some layouts with that soon. I'm loving working on these 4th layouts, it's just so much fun working with the colors!

My TMJ is acting up tonight so I'm cutting this short. I'll try to get back into the mojo soon. I'm about to release a new kit, it's a redesign of one of the first kits in the Next Best Thing contest (which I didn't make it, but I'll have a much better surprise coming soon anyway, so it's okay!), so I will probably try to make a quickpage or two out of it. I'll also probably have a sale on it for the first few days, so I hope you will want to snatch it up at the reduced price!

Week 4 Kit Is Up!

Just wanted to let everyone know that my week 4, the final week of the Next Best Thing, entry is up for download. You can go here to snag my kit plus everyone else's. You will have to sign up in order to get the kits.

For this week's entry, I used a ton of items by Tiffany, including some new, not-yet-released products. The fruits (and the glass as well) will be a set of templates and doodles in a future grab bag, and I also used an overlay from her current July grab bag. I also used some overlays by Spinky Dink Scraps, which you can get at Scrapable.net.

We rearranged our living room this week...oh what a chore! We moved everything around including the TV stand, couch, chair, scrapbook desk, and computer desk. I'm so tired, and I still have more left to do. Fortunately, our house is very clean now, and all I have left to do is keep it clean, and get laundry done. (Our laundry was so piled up!) Now if I didn't have to follow Isaac around with a broom and dust pan in order to keep things tidy, life would be great. I plan on taking some pictures once everything's looking spiffy again, and maybe doing a layout. I have a great kit and a perfect title and stuff for it. That will have to come later though.

I might get some scrapping done tonight or tomorrow, since my last entry for NBT is done and the contest ends Saturday. What an experience! It was fun, but I'm so glad it's over. I can't even imagine how the participants of SYTYCD felt!

I also have to start working on some designs for t-shirts for a member over at K-Joi Studios, I'm making some designs she can print on t-shirts to let babysitters, etc. know that her son is allergic to peanuts. Probably start working on some of those tonight in between loads of laundry.

Okay all...I completely forgot about the blog train until a few minutes ago. I had the post scheduled so Blogger put it up, but I forgot to put the links in and stuff. I do apologize for that. I'm SOOO sorry. This is my first blog train, so I'm not used to it.

This is the ADSD July blog train, and it's called Summer Garden. It's filled with beautiful pinks and greens and themed off lazy days in the summer, with kids playing, gardening, bugs, flowers, etc. (My favorite parts of summer - except the bugs - and well, add in the pool and I'm good! lol!)

It includes 5 papers, 2 ribbons, 2 different flowers (one with center, one without), 2 frames, and 2 flair buttons. I also have an add-on, but I will tell you more about that later.

Happy weekend everyone! Well, we're officially a week away from July 4th. I've already started seeing the posters and radio ads fly up for fireworks...it really gets me excited. I just love Fourth of July...not too big of a fan of fireworks, lol, but I just love the look of them and going to the city fireworks show is always exciting for me. Hopefully this year, we can find a good place with good view of the fireworks. I found out last year that my camera takes pretty decent shots of fireworks, so I'm pretty excited to get some.

I had a whole kit planned, the idea was fantastic, and then at the eleventh hour the entire idea just caved on me. The items that I was planning to extract wouldn't scan or photograph at good enough quality and I just didn't have time to mess around with them, but they were what made the kit so charming, so I had to start over with a different theme. I'm disappointed, but that's the way life goes right? So hopefully what I came up with is good enough to make it. I'll let you guys know.

Well I have a ton of things on my to-do list today and some really need to get done before 4:00 (5 hours away!) including cleaning, so I better go and get started! I'll have a few new things coming out very soon, including a blog train scheduled to take off on the 1st, my first blog train!

New kit and a freebie!

Okay, finally I have a freebie for all of you lol! I've been so busy with the Next Best Thing contest and working on this new kit to put up in the shop that I haven't even had time to scrap! I know, what a catastrophe!

I have a new kit up in the shop today, it is called Love by the Lakeside and it is inspired by one of my favorite movies since high school, A Walk to Remember. The color scheme is directly taken from some of my favorite stills in the movie. It captures the romance and beauty that is a night by the lake with your significant other or other loved one. I've included the rich colors of one of the characters clothing, the beautiful deep and light greens of the greenery, and the burgundy color in the sunset. This kit is huge and contains 12 highly-textured papers (some of the overlays used are Tiffany's!), 38 elements including scalloped frames, roses, tags, and bows, and a full glittered alpha as well! It's well worth the bargain of $5.00 if you ask me!

I have also put up a set of 5 word art in the shop to match the kit as well. These word art are all created at 300 PPI and in .png format, and would be perfect as titles for all your wedding, Valentine's Day, and other romantic event layouts. They are only $1.00 and not included in the kit!

And last but not least, I have created a freebie for all of my customers so you can preview a little bit of the kit yourself. I have made a frame cluster using some of the elements in the kit.

Our anniversary was definitely eventful. It was fun, but sort of disastrous in a way. But aren't plans always that way? lol By the time we got out to the lake the heat had all but spoiled our picnic lunch, so that wasn't very good. Then about 45 minutes after sitting down we had to gather everything back up to go into town to buy sunscreen because Isaac was starting to burn. When we got back everything good was taken so we had to go to a different lake. We found shade but Heath and I fished a little on the bridge...by the time 20-30 minutes was passed, I was sick from the heat and pain medicine mixed together for my TMJ (I know, not the brightest idea!). So we left and then Heath and I got into an argument about going to the mall vs. going somewhere else - there's way more to it than that but why hash it up on a blog. We finally worked it out and went to the mall to walk around in the air-conditioning for a little while. Met up with my mom, purchased the best shirt for my father for Father's Day, and then we left to go home and get ready to drop Isaac off with my mom and go to dinner. By the time we got to dinner I noticed I had a horrendous sunburn that hurt pretty bad. It got worse through dinner and all through the night - dinner was uncomfortable for me, and after we picked up Isaac we came home and laid in bed. That was uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep on my back all night. Still can't and it's been two days!

So while it was fun, it could have been done smarter...more ice in the cooler and lots of sunscreen!!!

So that was my anniversary. Not exactly what I wanted it to be but special all the same. Hopefully I'll be back in the next few days with another freebie or some layouts to show you with Love by the Lakeside. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Next Best Thing Week 2!

Well I made it into week 2 of the Next Best Thing contest over at Digital Scrap Ink. This week the theme was 25+. We were given free reign on colors, amount of elements, and everything else as long as the subject could be used to scrap anything important to 25 years and up. I took something very close to us this week for my theme - Heath is trying to lose weight, as he has been overweight for most of his life. I noticed this has become increasingly important to an older generation, but not so much in the younger generation (which is sad, really). So I designed a kit called Making Progress, in hopes that all those who are trying to lose weight will scrap their progress. I believe scrapping the progress you're making could be taking a step in a great direction. If you see how good you're looking in pictures, you're more willing to make the sacrifices in eating healthy and exercising because you're seeing the payoff. Plus, scrapbooking is a form of therapy for many. Besides, it's a great way to see how you're progressing and capture the memory of how you got there once you meet your goal!

Making Progress has 8 papers and 24 elements and includes a chart for tracking weight loss, exercising, or anything you'd like. I've made 7 day of the week flair to match the chart, but they are also full size flair so you can use them just like you would regular flair, for an accent on your page or to help tell the story. It also includes a menu paper, which you can use for tracking what you're eating, or you can just use it for regular journaling as well. There's also a notepad paper for journaling, 3 word flair, 3 stitched heart frames, 2 curled ribbons, 2 bows, and some other great elements.

I'm not allowed to post the direct download link but I am allowed to post the link to the gallery to get my kit. You will have to register to get it, but it is worth it because while you're there you can download all the week 2 kits (some are not up yet, deadline is not until Thursday), and check out the week 1 kits as well. This kit will not be available for that long, as after the contest I intend to either put it in my store as-is or expand on it and put it in my store. So grab it while you can!

Heath and I have a little outing planned for Wednesday (the lake and the picnic lunch I told you about) and it seems the weather is going to cooperate :D ... and then we also have a date night that night - without the kiddo. :D So I will probably be back after that. Day at the lake and huge thunderstorms

Today, Heath, Isaac and I went and spent a fabulous early-afternoon at the lake. Since Tuesday we have been trying to get out to the lake to do a little fishing, since today was Heath's 23rd birthday, and since Tuesday horrid thunderstorms have been getting in our way. Tuesday we went out to the lake outside town and literally five minutes after we sat down we heard thunder rolling. Isaac and I had to take shelter under a tree while Heath pulled the car around to the other side of the lake to come get us and the supplies. That night we had 70+ mph winds and quarter-sized hail, but we were lucky that we didn't hit any of that coming back into town, except the torrential rain. Wednesday we tried it again, but again, 5 minutes after sitting down the sky began to get dark and we could see lightning in the distance, so we high-tailed it out of there - but not before I got some shots of the looming storm in the sky. (Just so you know, the pictures don't do it justice - it was dangerous-looking, but so beautiful!) Thursday was the same way, except we didn't even have a chance to get out there since Heath and I both worked. But we did sit down to watch Twilight (I've never seen it!) after Heath got off at work, we started it around 2am, and by 3am (just when it was getting good) our power got knocked out. Shortly after there was more hail - oh, it was horrible. We couldn't even hear ourselves talking to each other because the hail and rain was so heavy. Lights didn't come back on until at least after 4am - Isaac was woken up by the lightning and we all three fell asleep on the couch. I do remember Heath waking me up around 5 or 6 to go lay in bed, and the power was back on by then. We slept in, of course, and decided around noon that it may be a good idea to head out to the lake before Heath had to go to work and before it decided to rain on us again - lol! Luckily the weather stayed nice and we had a beautiful couple hours out there before we had to come back so Heath could head off to work. I got some fantastic pictures for a birthday layout for Heath, and some great close-ups of Isaac as well. Now I only wish I could put them up for everyone to see! My card is not wanting to read in my reader and I haven't gotten up to find my cord for it yet. Hopefully Isaac will stay asleep just a little longer so I have a chance to do one layout. I would really love to scrap some of these photos.

That's really all I have for today. I've entered myself in The Next Best Thing contest at Digital Scrap Ink and will find out the results for that tomorrow, whether I'm moving on to the next round and what the next challenge will be. Tiffany has also entered, it would be fantastic if you could stop by and show us both a little love, and if you like, download our mini-kits (they're free!)...Next week will be a busy week, if I make it to the next round I will have another kit to do by Thursday, and our 3rd anniversary is this Wednesday so we have decided to take supplies for a picnic lunch to the lake on Wednesday and our fishing supplies, since we both have the day off. I may even buy a day license to do a little fishing myself, and hopefully we'll catch us some fish! And I will be sure to take pictures. I probably won't post again until after Wednesday, it will be a busy week like I said but I may pop in to update you on whether I make it to the next round. Have a great day everyone!

That's right! I've opened up a new (MY FIRST!) shop! I can't tell everybody how incredibly excited I am to be in such a wonderful store. I've been a member at K-Joi now for about 1.5 years (if I remember right) and have been on the CT for probably approximately half of that time. The designers are all amazing - their designs are amazing, and they as people are amazing. They are always willing to answer a question, do a favor, or help you out in almost any way. If you post an ISO, there's almost always someone who has what you're looking for, knows where to find it, or is willing to make it. When you need a shoulder to lean on, they are there. When you have an announcement, they are just as excited for you as you are for yourself. All of them deserve so much praise for what they do, and all of their wonderful designs, layouts, and all that they do to make K-Joi what it is. Kara, the owner, works so hard to maintain a wonderful, customer-friendly store. If there's ever a problem she's there ASAP to resolve it and remedy it beyond what a lot of stores may do. And boy when I say she works hard, she really works hard - it really must be a full-time job to do what she does!

Please, please, please...even if you don't stop by my store, please do stop by some of the other designer's stores and take a look at their designs. Tiffany designs over there also, so this may be your chance to pick up some of her stuff as well. You're also more than welcome to join the forum, we are an incredibly friendly, DRAMA-FREE group of people! It's been a while since I've posted, but for good reason. I've been hard at work!

I also have an announcement that should be coming in the next few days. It's a secret right now, and I cannot share it at this moment. But (barring any mishaps and unexpected setbacks) you should hear it from me in the next few days. :D

I don't have anything for you guys, but like I said, I've been hard at work on some things. You just have to be patient with me for a little while. I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know that I didn't abandon my blog or my designing...hopefully you'll hear from me and my secret again in the next few days! :D

No freebies today for you guys. I am working on it though. I take considerably longer to make things than most designers I know. Tiffany can whip out a kit in like 2-3 days flat - I take 1-2 weeks...and that's if I'm in a hurry. :D

I wanted to let you guys know that it's time for a makeover. I've already made over my preview style and found something I like (for now, that is lol) so it's time to makeover my blog and make some blinkies to advertise myself and my blog. I'm starting to get really serious about this designing thing...starting to purchase programs I should have purchased ages ago. I'm wanting to improve my skills, get into a shop within a year or two, and get a fanbase. If anybody has any suggestions, email me (find my email in the sidebar) and I will take them into consideration! So I wanted to let you know that the blog may be a mess while I get things in order - if it takes me 2 weeks or more to make a kit, imagine how long it will take me to makeover my blog. :D
